Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Hi folks I'm John and have been dealing with Weaver Leather for years but am afraid I may have to find another place to get it. Just was curious how much you guys pay and where you buy yours. I mostly use 7-8 oz. double shoulders.they average 13-16 ft.and pay about 3.90a ft. Any better place?

John,

We usually buy from Tandy but only because we can go in and hand pick what we want.  Now that we wont have one near I will be interested to see what shows up in this discussion

The problem is Weavers is a wholesale place and you need a tax number to buy from them. I have that but they demand you buy 1200.00 worth of stuff a year now since Paul Weaverstepped down as
Pres. That was fine too before my neck fusions when I made and sold hundreds of ARMGUARDS,back quivers, gun slings, custom holsters etc. Now I can't do that so I'll be banned from them after the end of the year. Maybe we should all buy as a group? :)

Yeah new management is going to run off a lot of their smaller buy customers. Wonder how that will affect their long term employment. May all be due to unaffordable health care.

I don't buy enough per year to hang with them either, plus the quality I got from them last time required returning two sides. Don't have time to deal with reject/returns.

Been hand selecting at Tandy lately (have a local manager friend that lets me know when the better stuff is in). A bit of a drive but worth it. My buddy RLo does a lot of leather work and gets his from some guy up the east coast. I'll check with him on his source.
