I am not too really sure but I am considering a double agent II for the coolness factor anyone have any experience with this model?
ive had no time with this knife, but i agree on the coolness-abilty factor...
can't recommend the scimitar enough, whether you want an EDC or tactical folder. You will find that it fits the bill.
I bought a Cold Steel Spike, and the thing is the biggest piece of JUNK around.. rediculously thick blade that comes down into an edge, the grind on the blade...is the edge... they arent seperate... there is no fingerchoil whatsoever, and no jimping. It would most likely be safer to sharpen up a toothbrush and wear that around my neck all day. I would never defend my life with this knife, in fear of losing my fingers...

However, last week i bought a Cold Steel Recon 1, the half serrated Clip Point model, and ill tell you its a great knife.. Nice, very tactical, thumb disk ontop of the blade, left or right pocket clip postitions, both tip up. the blade is adequately thick, and its large, 4". Came Razor sharp but probably wont stay that way for long (AUS 8), at least it will be easy to sharpen. The G10 scales... The G10 "SLABS" are very nice and the texturing is outstanding. The steel liners are not skeletonized which some of you will find to be a flaw, but i love it. I like big, heavy knives. It locks up solid with that axis style locking mechanism as well. The Teflon blade coating is probably not the best as far as wear will go... but its good enough for me, I really love this knife.
I jest got my self a cold steel ti-lite (zytel)... so heres my out of the box reveiw (no real use yet), i love how they desined the whole thing, looks and feels great. i really like how the thumb stud and the lock come together and work as a team to give you that spring assisted feel. when i got it came scary sharp brand new.
I got one of the D.A. IIs a few months ago...I like it, and carry it occasionally. I ground the swage on the back of the blade down until its reasonably sharp. Light weight, and easy to carry....doesn't print through a t shirt. The steel is a little thin, but for the price, I think a good deal. Btw, I replaced the bead chain with a piece of 550 cord and cord-lok for better carry.
I have the tanto Recon 1...I like the knife but I would have liked a few design changes. The pocket clip is alittle low for my liking. Rides alittle high in the pocket. The G10 is very nice and sticky but it would have been nice if the texture under the pocket clip was alittle less agressive. Really shreds my pockets up pretty good. Other then that...I like the blade. I concur about the teflon coating...so far so good but time will tell.
Now thats a big blade!!

hey does anyone have an urban pal? if so how do you like it...more like how has te sheath held up? cause I've had mine for 1 day and the secure ex sheath isn;t holding it in very well....help?
My first Cold Steel knife is an Espada, medium. I have a Double Agent l on the way. The Espada will be my EDC. I haven't had the Espada long but so far all I can say about it is that it is about as fine a knife as I have ever owned. As soon as I can save up the $$$, I'll own an Espada XL. I'll probably make a plaque and display it on the wall above my desk. Much too large to carry but it is just an awesome knife.
Don't know what I'll do with the Double Agent. If I could rig the sheath for belt carry, I'd do that but it won't be a neck knife for me. Might just keep it under the seat in the car for emergency use.
If you wear the knife inverted carry style like I often do,the fact is that sheaths like this(plastics),will get loose and if unaware, may fall out and all you have left is the sheath.Trust me as I just had this happen to myself with a CUSTOM made knife and sheath. It sucks.I recommend calling Cold Steel to get a replacement sheath-they will work with you.For now, wear the knife in an upright position or tie lanyard to knife and sheath.Hope this helps Nate.Have a Knife Day!
