Yes I know it is the MSRP but it is priced above anyone I know who would be a Cold Steel buyer. I can get you one for about $200 plus shipping.
I think Lynn has over estimated the value of this knife....if in fact this is the price. I can buy two GEC and four Case for the same price. I saw you had a Birthday a few days ago. Happy Birthday you young whipper-snapper.
I'll be straight up honest with all of you. I don't collect Cold Steel and until yesterday have never owned a Cold Steel Knife.
That said I like the Okapi so I thought I'd give the Cold Steel Kudu 20 a try. I mean Zytel instead of cherry wood. It seemed like a no-brainer to me.
now I'm no dummy. I've played around with Okapis for a while and I know how the ring lock works on the knife but try as i might it is damn near impossible to close the Kudu. Just to make sure there wasn't some trick that CS added to the knife in some effort to improve on the design, I checked their site, watched their video and watched a half dozen other video on the Knife.
I'm doing everything right but ti remains damn near impossible to close. I read the reviews on Amazon and in other places. Seriously does CS have quality/design issues with this knife? I find it impossible that when i try to close the Okapi using the various methods they all work but when it comes to the CS Kudu it turns into epic fail every time. Not to mention the finger ring is cutting into my index finger!
What up with the knife?
Well well well. Looks like I gone done won me a knife! Top Shelf Buys had a contest on their *shudder* Facebook page and I just stumbled across it. Threw up a picture of my EDC, and lo and behold, I won a Random draw. So, now I am supposedly the proud new owner of a Cold Steel Mini Recon 1 Tanto. Contest rules stated prizes would be shipped free in the US, other countries would have to pay shipping. When I asked about shipping, I was told my name was drawn fair and square, shipping was on him. Wow! So, a shout out to Top Shelf Buys for the contest, and the fantastic customer service! Hoping to see Stan join us here.
Just for you, Hog...here's a pic borrowed from the Cold Steel site.
Does anybody want to trade a new hatomoto for a new talwar?
To my knowledge it would not be illegal in Florida to own.
Carrying it would require a Concealed Carry License.
Use for defense would require real stupidity or lack of your gun, which might be the same thing.
The Chaos Double Edge is illegal in most states in the USA. Cool looking knife but could be a problem.
That is a nice looking Kukri
