How do you like the SK5 steel? I really liked the carbonV but I haven't tried the SK stuff. I would like to know how the two compare.

I think the Leatherneck will be popular with young jar heads fresh out of boot.  As for me I will take the original. I think large feald knives should be carbon steel.

The last CS I bought was the trench hawk,  I cut the spike off and made a shorter haft for it. I want to use it as a camp hatchet.

Does anyone have a Special Forces Shovel? and if so, can it be used to split wood when going with the grain.

The only thing I can say after owning both the raja III and the spartan( I actually traded my Raja III for a Spartan) I would say if you want something that doesn't scare people when you pull it out get the Raja III but if your going to be some major cutting and hacking and maybe killing then go with the spartan cause it is a BIG knife very BIG.
