Both, although never clipped to back pocket. After a vbs dinner one of my parishioners handed me my CRKT m16 and said "Pastor, I think you dropped this." Better her find it then one of the children.

A pocket knife I've had several with clips and lost everyone of them no more clips for me. I drive a fork lift and the seatbelt on it must pull it out of my pocket they just disappear. No clips for me

I use both, both have their time and place to carry

Both!  At least one clipped in the RFP and at least on in the pocket. Sometimes three or four in a combination of clipped and pocket, it all depends on the day and what's happening.
