Well just to be pedantic, no this is not how to "sharpen" a pocket knife, this is how to "hone" a pocket knife. Sharpening involves making circular motions of a blade upon a surface. Honing involves drawing a blade towards its edge across a surface. Stropping involves drawing a blade away from its edge across a surface.
