Moore Maker Knives; An excellent EDC for the discerning knive owner.

Pictured are three Moore Maker Knives I have acquired.  The two bladed Trapper with the yellow handles and leather sheath is by far my favorite.  This Trapper is one big knife.  Queen makes this knife for Moore Maker.

Moore Maker makes a single lock bladed Trapper with this beautiful bone handle.  This Trapper was made by Canal Street.

Also, I have a Moore Maker Mini Trail Boss which has the double lock back blades.  My Dad just loves his Mini Trail Boss.  This Mini Trail Boss has a red stained bone handle.

Moore Maker Knives is located in Matador, TX which is near the SE corner of the Texas Panhandle.  My Dad and I visited Moore Maker Knives last summer and enjoyed our visit with Wayland and Dave Moore.  Wayland and Dave are just down to earth good people.

Moore Maker has over 1,800 dealers, employes 80 people and sell other tools beside knives.  Check their web site out: http://www.mooremaker.com/  Don't look for an email address as Dave and Wayland don't do computers.  Every transaction is kept in a ledger.  Yes by hand and in a ledger.

Very nice Clint, had my eye on a yellow stockman for about 5 years now, almost had it ordered and it all fell through. They make some very nice knives!

The yellow Trapper on top and that smooth bone on the bottom ring my bell quite loudly! Those are all sweet lookin' knives, Clint!

I guess I'm going to put one of these on my list. My list keep getting longer and longer.

I have definitely had this company on my radar for a while. I just haven't pulled the trigger on one. Those are really nice.

Billy...

Moore Maker knives are great knives with many being made of carbon steel.

Pull the trigger, Billy, pull! These are beautiful knives, most of them very well made for Moore Maker, formerly by Camillus, now by Queen and some by Canal Street. I must find the time and post some pics too.

I have always liked that middle pattern Clint.  Somehow I dont own one...maybe a Moore Maker?  Goodness I wish I knew where they got the ledger I keep trying to find one

Jan....

Just call them and ask for Dave.  Call about 11am your time.

I love these knives. There is a hardware store here locally that carries their knives and tools. The only problem is that they want around $175 to $200 for each knife. They are also asking around $35.00 each for the sheath!

I WILL buy me some, someday, LOL

but saying that, I guess I'll have to buy them elsewhere, rather than  the local hardware store.

Hi, Steven,

As you’ll know, we do have excellent retailers here among us at iKC… ;=)

If you want a top notch EDC, you probably will accept some minor flaw or imperfection? Then, you should follow the listings of Moore Marketing on eBay

(Seller: sjeffers55 ):

This company is associated with Moore Maker, Inc. as only authorized distributor of “seconds” Moore Maker knives.  I’ve purchased from them several almost perfect knives for a (relatively) very low price.

For instance: this #5202LL trapper for US$ 42 (the retail price on this knife was $87.25) :

Jean....

I talked to Wayland about this.  When they get in say a thousand knives from a contracted maker, Moore Make's crew goes over each and every one and sets aside the seconds.  In stead of going through the returning of a product which has its name on it, they have an associate sell them off.  I purchased a Stockman from this dealer.  The only thing I could see was a gap in the scale and the blades needed some finishing on the edges.  For a good working knife...this may be the way to go.

I'm sure glad you put that bottom one on it's box so I could see the Model #. I've never seen ,what looks to me, a single blade trapper with a thumb stud. What a beauty, and in natural bone as well
