I got it! This is flat out one cool little knife! I't really quite small, BUT, it doesn't feel that small. In fact, I put it next to my My Boker 8288 2 3/4" penknife with both blades open. The 26 is just a hair longer in total length!!!! Most pictures give the impression that is a fairly bulky knife, but once again, it isn't! It feel quite trim and fits in my coin pocket and I can't hardly tell it's there!!!
Fit and finish is about as good as you're going to get in any HIGH quality pocket knife. I have no complaints there.
Blade pull is good and strong, maybe too strong for some, but I have no problems opening the blades.
The edges weren't quite as sharp as my 33s out of the tube, but still good. The edge bevel was uneven so I'll put it on my Lansky and get the razor edge I know it will get. Why do I "know? I tried touching it up on a crock stick and in a very short time it was near razor sharp!
This this is WAAAY more beautiful in person than in the pictures! I love the Cocobolo handles...very good grain and color! Cocobolo is a VERY traditional handle material. I'm tickled with it!
Yes I've decided to use it! I couldn't resist. I love the #26 Sleeve board and WILL get more of these cool, cute, tough little buggers!

Craig,
That is some beautiful cocobolo. Hate to day it but it sounds like the GEC bug has bitten! One thing you will find is that they not only take an edge very easily but they will hold that edge also. Glad your going to use it, let us know how it goes
Thanks Jan! Yep, the bug bit and left a big welt!! LOL!
I was lucky to get the shots today. I was fighting the humidity.....my lens kept fogging up!
That's some great knives you have there, I love both patterns. The Conductor is a pattern I have admired for a long time. I am sure you will enjoy them for a long time.
Craig,
Nice lookin' Cocobolo handles on your new sleeveboard! The #26 was never a favorite of mine when they only made it with a spear blade. Just had one in genuine stag. Then it came out with the wharncliffe as the Lil Carver and it got my attention and when it came out in a clip blade and I was sold and had to get a couple. I think that you might like the #68 White Owls too - at least I sure like them. The white owl seems to pack a pretty decent size blade into a small and thin knife. Now if they would just make a three blade whittler version of one with split backsprings. Wouldn't be as thin but can't imagine that it would be too much thicker. You do sound like you're having lots of fun with the new GEC's! I hardly look at any other knives nowadays other than GEC's (unless they are another brand like Bulldog or Northwoods/Scagel that is made by GEC)! I do have a fondnesss for Randall Made Knives fixed blade knives but we are talking traditional folders here.
Well Tom, the problem with me (and my wallet) is, I also still love my Bokers!
Let's see.....GEC in my right pockets....Boker in my left pockets............
I did run in to a bit of a gripe (?) with my Sleeveboard; the main blade pull is so strong my thumb nail is getting sore! I switched to my 33 for that reason, and because I LOVE that 33! But I still love my Sleeveboard. I'll have to try it again when my thumb nail feels better.
Craig,
The thumb will heal and the knife will begin to open more smoothly but the #33 is an awesome knife. It deserves some pocket time
My thumb was feeling a bit better so I tried it today Jan. It seemed a little better. I'm working the blade back and forth, which always worked for knives in the past. I think it will be fine. I use 30 wt non-detergent motor oil for my knives. I'm kinda flushing it out with that and it seems to be helping too.
Craig,
Glad the thumb is feeling better. Working that knife will work I am sure. I like the flushing it out, if nothing else it will work in well while your enjoying the workout with the blade.
Either the blade is getting broken in, or my thumb is getting broken in, or both. Everything seems pretty much hunky dory now. Still a strong spring, but better. But, I think they could turn it down a notch or two.
It still be pretty too! I showed it to my brother-in-law and he thought it was one of the nicest knives he's ever seen.
