Great Eastern Cutlery annouced to distributors and dealers that there would be a offering of the 92 Talon in Tidioute and Northfield in the usual way they always do. I was personally thinking that the 92 was not that exciting, man was I ever wrong! The first of these arrived in Ebony wood a wharncliffe blade #920114BE ( bare end) and a spear blade 922114BE . I love a wharnie and i opened it first... YEP!
thats it it felt great in my hand and had a tight wobble free ,centered wharnecliffe blade. The spear point the 922114 was just as nice. I have been frequenting the Blog by JJ at JJ's General Store
trying to get a grasp on the whittling art/sport , When i saw these knives, I thought this is it!
What do you think? the Northfields are starting to come in now, but the Tidioutes hae shown in handle materials such as Micarta, jig bone, wood, acrylic. I say good job GEC !GEC,GEC
Which do you prefer the wharnecliffe or the spear point?

I think that GE is capitalizing on the popularity of the Viper. As a wharnie fan, I like that version. As a general use knife, the spear looks great. Not too fond of the swell center frame on this one though.
Now, I'd sure love for them to produce one with a full size frame with only a 2" blade. That would be a great whittling knife.
I guess I prefer wharncliffe, that's what I ordered in lava kirinite.
I think the #92 looks fantastic with the wharnie , but as I bought the Viper a little while ago it's a spear for me but if I could afford it one of each would good. Also I have noticed that the wharnies are flying out of the dealer that I normally use and the spears are not moving nearly as quick.
I like a wharnie, just for the looks. But, for general all(most) purpose functionality, the Spear blade as plain as it is, would suit better as an EDC.
If I could only buy one, yeah I would buy the wharnie.
I think that they look great. As much as I love the micarta, I think that the ebony looks nicer. If I only had the funds to get one....
Also, I think that if they made the wharnie with a long pull in the green micarta, I'd somehow find the money to get one!
Hey Doug, That WAS quick and it looks great!
I see, maybe a short blade works better huh... it would be neat
