GEC Prototypes
Hello Folks, I recently won a 2008 Great Eastern brand #53 stockman in second cut stag. It is a prototype being one of two made. My question is when GEC puts out a prototype like this what is it a prototype of ? This knife was made in 2008 so it cannot be a prototype of the pattern, maybe a handle material prototype ? I will try and upload a picture.

My understanding is they usually make 2 protos of each production run.I have several proto toenails that have standard run handles,etched proto and certs. saying either 1 of 2,or 1 of 1.I don`t know if they did this for all of there patterns and handles or not.
