Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

For some time now I have been using a product on my Acrylic/Perylic handle GEC's that does a wonderful job of cleaning them and leaving them with a fantastic shine.  I am in no way trying to promote someone's product here, this is a GEC Forum after all, but this product gives such great results I wanted to share it with you.

The name of the product is;

NOVUS #1  Plastic Clean & Shine.

"Cleans, Shines,Protects"

"Antifog, Antistatic, Dust Repellent"

"For Use On All Plastic Surfaces"

www.novuspolish.com

If you have knives with the Acrylic/Perylic handles I think you would find this product a real asset to your collection and its maintenance.  It's easy to use and does an impressive job.  I use it on my EDC's as well as all the Acrylic/Perylic's in my little "assortment".

I just wanted to share something good with you all.

Dave,

Thanks for the heads up.  We love our acrylics and want them to always have that new look.  Finding a product that can accomplish that without gumming up the knife can be tough.  We appreciate your sharing that with us

Check out the website for complete info.

Absolutely NO gun with this stuff and it shines not only the Acrylic/Perylic, but the metal parts as well.

I was waxing my knives until I discovered this and it is so much easier to use and gives such enhanced results that I now use it exclusively.  I like the fact that it leaves no residue or "gum" of any kind.  Just a great shine.

Awesome Dave, I still don't have an Acrylic, or a Perylic yet but maybe I'll have to pick one up soon. It's sounds like a great product so thanks for the link, I'll be checking it out for sure.

I have the 8 ounce size container, which will still be half full long after I'm gone.

The smaller 2 ounce size will last a long time for maintaining a knife collection.

Be aware that it does slightly darken the brass to a deep golden color, which I personally find attractive, but polishes all other metal and acrylic surfaces, including the 1095 blade steel, without discoloring.

I have worked in the plastic industry for nearly 30 years and am very familiar with the Novus plastic polishes. There is also a Novus #2 & #3 which are used for scratch removal. Novus is a good product. I have found some I like even better that leave behind a scratch resistant coating, but you can't go wrong with regular old Novus #1 for frequent use.

Thanks Tim.

Glad to hear you are very familiar with Novus products.  They were relatively new to me but I am very happy with the results.  I would be interested in the products you mention that leave a protective coating as well.  Sounds like it could be an even better "mouse trap".  I'm always open to learning something new.

Wow,

Dave you hit the right product and we have Tim with his famialarity of the products.  It never ceases to amaze me the varity of info we learn here and the people we meet.  Tim thanks so much for the input on that product, I too would be interested in hearing about the others and the differences.
