Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

The economy sucks, the ocean's filling up with crude oil, unemployment is way too high, if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all, .........  Time for some fun!!!

I've been talking about this for a while and I think it's about time to name the "Beaver" on the Beaver Tail Pattern knives.  Here's how it's gonna work.

Starting today, you can submit your suggestion for a name for the Beaver on the Beaver Tail Pattern knives.  Let's take name submissions for the next couple of weeks.  Somewhere around the end of June I'll put the names up on a survey and anyone and everyone can vote to determine the most popular name.  So to enter your name suggestion, just post a 'comment' to this entry.

It's gonna be impossible to determine a "winner" as a couple of you have already submitted names, some of you will no doubt submit the same suggestion for a name, a couple of you will no doubt to try to 'game' the system with subtle variations of a name (i.e. greg, gregg, ggregg, etc) Sooooo, how a bout we have a random drawing at the end of the contest for a couple caps or T's?

Now, understand, this contest is done without the consent, approval, endorsement or any acknowldgement from Great Eastern Cutlery, BUT, when we determine a 'most popular' name, I will personally lobby Great Eastern to recognize the name as being his (or it could be a her????) generally accepted name.  (and you know what, if GEC won't accept it, it won't matter because we'll all know in our hearts what his/her real name is)  This is a chance to leave our mark in knife collecting history by creating a name for the Beaver that will be on the lips of collectors for generations to come.

So relax, let's have a little fun.

My suggestion:  Willard (or was that a rat in a movie?)

Max is right! This has been a lot of fun and a bit of exposure for Great Eastern Cutlery and the knives we all enjoy. No matter who wins we've had a good time and a few laughs over this.
I wish we could all get together in person and celebrate a great "campaign".

Backing Chris was a very small way to express my own sincere appreciation for all the helpful and friendly telephone calls and emails she has put up with from me these past four years. It is a real goal of mine to someday visit GEC and thank Chris in person.

Whatever name our Beaver ends up with, this has been a hoot!
WELL I DIDN'T WON'T HAZEL TO COME IN DEAD LAST BUT AS LONG AS I GET OUT OF THE MUD ,I GAVE CHRISTINE MY VOTE..CAN YOU SEE MY FLAG FROM THE MUD HOLE..LOL
Tom,

Thanks for the support. She will always be Hazel in my heart, maybe we can give her a middle name
Max,
Your right the voting is complete as of midnight tonight. Betty has put a good fight and has had a wonderful champion in you. No matter what name we end up with we will always have the naming story to tell. Thanks for fun...
Jan
Dave,

You have no idea how much we appreciate your backing Christine. We will be printng all the entries and fun from here and TSA Knives to give to Christine when we go to the Open House in a couple of weeks.

We certainly wish as you do, that you were all joining us in Titusville. I promise to take a lot of pictures to share and to make sure everyone at the plant knows what GEC means to us all. Not only the knives but the fun we have spending time on the sites togeather.

Greg,

For coming up with the "Name the Beaver " Contest, for offering the winner a to be announced TSA prize. Thank you. For the fun you create around a great knife and a wonderful company -
We appreciate you and my last minute entry for the name of the Beaver is "GREG". We do appreciate all you do buddy. Even if you are more elusive than a beaver.

Jan
Jan,

I really appreciate your idea of printing up all the fun we've had both here and at TSA Knives and sharing it all with Chris. I think she'll enjoy it all as much as we have. Chris has been awfully nice to me these past four years which I sincerely appreciate. She is a very Special part of GEC!

I'd like to thank You, my good buddy Greg, my friend Max, and everyone who has taken part in this"race", either by posting on the sites or by reading our good natured "campaigning". It's been fun......crazy.....but fun to be sure. Thank you all.

I do wish I could join you in Titusville. One of these days it will happen, maybe next year.
I know it's going to be a great time! I'll look forward to your pictures and comments.

Thank you for your post my Friend.
