Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

With Valentines Day on the horizon, I thought I would share a few thoughts with some of you.

I often have knife buddies that say “I wish my wife were involved with my hobby”. So how many of you have tried to involve your better half and what better day of the year to try.

A few suggestions you say?

How about this, instead of a dozen overpriced VDay roses, a rose bush and a small pruning knife. Want a little more personal, get the knife now…have your jeweler engrave I love you and 2-14-2012. (inexpensive good choice Opinel..my choice Ken Ericksons)

Does she love chocolates? How about a box of chocolate covered strawberries and a new kitchen slicer like the Great Eastern Slicer 1.

Or better yet, A bottle of fine wine, the same chocolate covered strawberries and a laguiole corkscrew.

Or maybe even a gift certificate for a massage or day spa, inside the lovely tin that Case provides with their Valentines Day Knife.

Is she always on the go, laptop in hand? How about the Swiss Army SwissFlash 4GB Pocket Knife. Flashlight, knife, scissors, and an always handy flash drive.

Ok guys, you get the idea. Think outside the box of your own collection, it is not what interests her. That’s not to say that she wouldn’t like to have a knife of her own, paired with something she can see you put some personal thought into.

Last but not least….Many of the Art knives have jewels, you can check out some of them here on Bladesmith Babes under the discussion

Jan,

Some great ideas there! My wife has actually been hinting that she wants a knife of her own to put in her purse - but I have been waffling over what to get her. She likes my GEC Bulldog Red Abalone #54W but I'm not giving that one up! I'll have to get her one of her own and put it in a GEC knife sleeve! Don't want to get her something fancy and have it look like a piece of sea glass after it gets tumbled around in her purse. Maybe the swiss army knife is a better call!!!

I was wondering if you wrote this post for all of us guys or for Donnie but I didn't see any ideas that centered around a new Beavertail so I guess that it was for us guys! LOL!

My wife would like a pretty knife with a lanyard that has Pandora beads on it I'll bet! GEC needs to do a #72T in abalone or MOP!

I can certainly recommend the #66 mink for a purse carry.  The size makes it perfect, not too small to get lost in it and not to heavy to make it harder to carry.  The sleeve is the best idea, have you ever seen the inside of a woman's handbag??? OMG!!!

So who besides Tom is going to tell someone they love them with a sharp object?
