Ouch! I bet that hurt. "Dead" animals can do some crazy things. I read of an incident where a hunter shot a deer It was down and he went up to it and put his rifle across its antlers for a picture. The deer jumped up and ran off with his rifle.

Years ago my old boss who was a avid turkey hunter shot a big gobbler.
Well he is kinda cheap and the old gobbler was flopping around on the ground
not quite dead so he decided to choke it to death instead of shooting it again.
Well he ran over and straddled the turkey and grabbed it by the neck and started
choking it, this is when the turkey in self defense grabbed hold of a certain part
the boss's male anatomy in self defense.
My boss said he wasn't sure who was going to die first, but luck was on his side
as the turkey was already shot. He said he had to sit down for quite awhile before
he could take his trophy and head out of the woods.
