Nice photos Charles, you should have some good opportunities this year. That looks like a good piece of land

It is Allan.  I always get to pick and choose what I want to shoot.  I let a lot more walk than I shoot.  I have seen as many as 200 deer in one hunting season.  And it is only five miles from my house.

I wish I could say the same! Seeing 50 deer in a season would excite me

One advantage I have is an almost four month long season.  It opens on Oct. 15 and ends on Feb. 10.  The first month is bow and spear only.  Yes, I said spear.  A spear is a legal deer hunting weapon in Alabama.

I'm counting days! We start bow season in Virginia on October 1st, and this year I bought a crossbow. Muzzle loader starts on November 5th, and I think we end January 3rd or so

I do my bow hunting with a crossbow too.  I killed one of the two deer I got last season with my muzzleloader.  The other one I got with my .30-06.

Oh, I forgot to mention in my previous post that an air rifle is now a legal deer gun in Alabama.  It has to be at least .30 caliber.

Interesting - I had read about the air rifles and wondered about regulations to accept them. I saw recently Crosman (traditional air rifle makers) has come up with an air bow now also.

My goodness Charles we have not seen this many together at all in the past couple of months but it is very hot so I imagine they are staying in the cooler area.  The hunters have been by to see if we are seeing them yet

Jan, this picture has the most deer in it I have gotten this year.  It has nine deer in it.  There are six close and three more down near the far end of the fence.
