Got my first deer of the season today.  He was a five pointer.  Would have been six point but he had broken off part of his left antler.  Not  a terribly big deer, weighed 135 pounds.  Sorry for the bad pics but didn't have camera with me and had to take pics after deer in truck and in the dark.

He looks like he will make a number of good meals!

Nice shot Charles. Glad you were able to bring one down.

Got him with my .30-06 at about 75 yards.

Good job Charles! Patience is a virtue! And you can still hunt more!  Good luck with the rest of the hunting season Charles.

Thanks John.  I still have  a little over a month to hunt.  The landowner's grandson killed an eight point buck there this morning.

Nice Charles but he shot your next deer!

I know Jan but I will probably forgive him over time!  LOL

Picked up my meat from the processor today.  He gave me this and didn't charge me.

You can see where he broke off his left antler.

Looks like you may be able to put a fixed blade with it??

Very cool mount.

No, the tines aren't positioned right to hold a knife.

Wow Charles! Looks like you got the full peroxide treatment there! That takes a lot of time to do for free? C'mon Charles is the butcher your brother?? LOL He must really like you. I am going to have to start buttering up my butcher but I still dont think he would do that for free. Yes if I was you I would continue using that butcher!! I'm sure you have taken him many deer!! Great Mount Charles!!
