Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Yesterday was opening day of dove season.  So naturally I went dove hunting.  As I was putting in my ear plugs I wondered how many people wear hearing protection while hunting.  When I was younger I didn't.  And I am paying for that now.  I can tell my hearing is not as good as it used to be, especially in one ear.  And that might be one reason I now have tinnitus.

So this poll question is, who wears hearing protection while hunting?

Charles....

I never have used hearing protection while hunting...except in Iraq. We had ear plugs which reduced sudden loud noises but at the same time we could hear and monitor radio traffic and carry on normal conversations. One night at FOB Dagger,AKA the Pleasure Palace located about 2K south of Tikrit which overlooked the Tigris River, we were hit by a single 122mm rocket. None of us had on any protection as this base remained safe for over two years. My right side was facing the direction of the rocket impact. I now have a right ear which feels like I have water in it. So my point is I never used ear plugs while hunting, except Iraq, and never experience loss of hearing because of the lack of use.

I wish Donnie had when he was younger also Charles
