I got this little gun at the Big Texan restaurant in Amarillo. It came with a little holster attached to a garter. But it appears to have been made to fire some sort of little blank. The cylinder does not rotate but there is one chamber that lines up with the firing pin when the cylinder is closed. And the hammer falls with a pretty good snap when you pull the trigger (if your finger is small enough to get in the trigger guard.) The chamber has a post in the center that looks like it would take something similar to a percussion cap. I bought it as a joke for my wife but she liked it. It now hangs from the rear view mirror in my truck, garter and all.

This little gun takes one of those red or yellow plastic caps you find in stores which will sell cap guns. Many of these caps are sold connected in a circle. Did you eat the 72 oz. steak and trimmings?
I didn't even try. Maybe 50 years ago I could have. I was as skinny as a rail and ate like a horse. Ah, for those days again.
When we were there, two fellows were trying it. One didn't even come close but if the other one could have finished his baked potato he would have done it. He was trying mightily but just couldn't eat any more. You could tell he was in some serious pain.

I have a buddy who has done this twice and is banned from trying again. The first time he eat all of the steak and trimmings and had desert. Yea he is my hero and best friend who is a City Marshal in OKC.
I have been to the Big Texan three times. I was disappointed all three times. I wanted to try the rattle snake but they were out all three times. (My wife said if they had it, I would have to sit at another table!)
It was funny how they had it listed on the menu. "Little meat, many bones. Your complaining will get you a live one." The last time I was there they had taken it off the menu. They said it was too hard to get.
Rattle Snake meat is seasonal. There should be rattle snake meat out there now. See this web site: http://rattlesnakeroundup.net/ and this one: http://www.duneguide.com/sand_dune_guide_little_sahara_ok.htm
