Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I found this knife listed on a few reseller sites but its not listed on the KAI/Kershaw site yet. It seems Kershaw is has taken their "Chubby" Model 1440 (red handle) and 1440C (cammo handle) that they produced for Snap-On, and renamed it Half Ton. They have even kept the wrench shaped clip. I just thought I'd let everyone know because I love my Chubbies (insert your joke here). The tall (wide?) blade is great and the action is very smooth. For the $15 the retailiers are charging for the Half Ton, you can't go wrong. For a price comparison it loooks like you can still get the Snap-On Chubby for $45 from the Snap-On website Stock#: KER1440 .

Here is a reseller's description
Kershaw 1445: Half Ton
The Kershaw Half Ton features a durable glass-reinforced nylon handle with non-slip Santoprene inserts. The pocket clip is very unique in that it is in the shape of a wrench. The stainless steel drop point blade swings open smoothly with a flick of the easily accessible thumbstud, while a liner lock holds it firmly in place. The Half Ton makes a great addition to the toolbox or tool belt.
Specifications
* Steel: 8CR13MoV stainless steel
* Handle: Glass-reinforced nylon with non0slip Santoprene inserts
* Lock: Locking liner
* Blade: 2 1/2 in.

I don't have any good pics of the Half Ton but I have included obverse and reverse shots of the Chubby for comparison.

Nice pics!
Thanks. My "second" hobby. I think I need a better diffuser as these seem a little overexposed. I'd love to take lessons from A.G.'s Photographer. That is the best looking catalog out there and I regularly ruin them by drooling over the pics.
