Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Northeast Cutlery Collectors Association

WELCOME TO THE NCCA-Created by Arthur Green

The Northeast Cutlery Collectors Association, Inc. is a 20+ year old Association serving old, factory & custom cutlery collectors. We collect pocket knives, hunting knives, antique bowie knives, military knives, antique swords and more! Our association is based in New England, but our membership extends worldwide.

As with all collecting clubs, we started out small, very small- Believe originally we were 12 members strong in 1982. We had our swap meets in member's basements, cold barns, and usually in the summer... it was a backyard affair. As with any interesting and versatile hobby, membership grew, and it grew, toinclude not only antique pocket knife collectors and Bowie and hunting knives but also collectors of current factory made pocket knives, such as Queen and Case, moreover, we were joined by many custom knife makers. So now the club boasts membership of about 450, where half have life memberships. All of us who work doing either the website content, newsletter printing and mailing and administration are volunteers, and we do it for the love of the hobby.

REMINDER - THE NCCA WILL BE HAVING IT'S ANNUAL SHOW IN MYSTIC, CT ON THE 27th. AND 28th. OF APRIL. ALL MEMBERS AND GENERAL PUBLIC ARE WELCOME. DON''T MISS THE GREAT SELECTION OF CUTLERY ITEMS, DISPLAYS AND SATURDAY NIGHT AUCTION. FOR MORE INFORMATION VISIT THE CLUB WEB SITE ATwww.ncca.info

Absolutely gorgeous! And congratulations on the award! I was so much younger in 1997! Ha,ha!

Do you still have that fancy whittler, Bob? They don't come much sweeter than that, do they! Congratulations for receiving that award!

That's quite a rogues gallery you're posing with in that '97 newsletter.

I say that in jest, of course. It's more like a veritable who's who of the knife world. I feel privileged and honored to have made your acquaintance. I'm also glad you found our little corner of the cutlery community here at iKC. Thanks for inviting me to join NCCA!

Cheers, my friend!

Thanks Ron; oh I still have that Case baby of mine!! Engraved bolster's; NCCA on one bolster, and 1997 on the other!

Boy, they threw just about every optional extra available on that Whittler. I mean, really! Slanted, fluted, dimpled and engraved bolsters! That great Case shield laying atop a gorgeous slab of stag! And, wowsa! Two deep etched XX's on that killer Wharnie master with not one but two coping blades! Holy cow! I'll just bet there's a kitchen sink somewhere on that knife's backside? If not, then, that's about the only thing missing! She's a real beauty, Robert!

Good eye Ron and your spot on!! All the attributes of a "Classic Case" collector's item! Here's the inside of that 1997 newsletter and me, many moons ago, behind my booth second one down on the left.

Here is the NCCA show calander for 2014....I am seriously thinking of attending the Annual Extravaganza show in May....Mystic, Conn....

Sell some books, give some skeletons away, show off my collection, and maybe even be willing to part with a few....???  Any input folks??

Comment by Ron Cooper on January 7, 2014

Input?

Yeah! I hope the weather has warmed up in Connecticut by then! lol

But, seriously. I think that your attendance would be great, Robert! Not only would it be an opportunity for you to meet & greet the many new enthusiasts to our hobby that would surely be in attendance. But, being the living legacy of Colonial Cutlery that you are, it would be a great chance for you to personally pass down some of the knowledge and wisdom that you have acquired from a lifetime of being immersed in the cutlery culture!

In just the short time that you have been a member here at iKC my appreciation for the knife collecting hobby has been enhanced immeasurably through your generous contributions to our site. The photographs and published clippings have been pure gold! I only wish that I could somehow tap into your experience and magically make it my own! But I guess I shouldn't be so greedy? I will gratefully accept what bits and pieces that you are inclined to share, a little at a time.

But, yes! I would wholeheartedly encourage you to attend the NCCA Extravaganza Knife Show in May and enrich the lives of everyone who has the good fortune to make your acquaintance there!

In other words: Rock on, my broster!

Thank you sir; it's nice to be appreciated by real people!

I am going to mail Larry Clifford and Arti' to find out the details and compare the expenses involved. If I can turn a buck or two and pay my way, I'm in! I only have about 35 books left to sell and that's it!! Simple can't afford a second print...

I will definately be giving away or selling little antique jewelry skeletons similar to my book money clip knives...maybe two for a buck! I'll even have some skeleton's with three blades, one being a small Italion made scissor's....

Much to think about..I might even part with some of my gems.....
