Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

We have been seeing a good number of custom makers lately and I LOVE it!  Every level of making, from handling a blank to forging a beautiful steel, the result is usually a unique knife made with a love of the tool.

So may I ask...How do you choose your next design?

Pfft....I'm the biggest fooler-arounder-in the world.

I simply draw something that I like the lines of....then as I start making it I tweak it and change it as I like...sometimes so much that it doesn't look much like the original anymore.

A good example of that is the hidden tang handles I do....I draw something out....get to the grinder.....and never look at my drawing again. I do the whole handle by freehand and just kind of massage it untill it's something I like.

But then again....since most of the knives I make aren't on order but simply because I like to make them. I can afford messing around like that. I bet it's different for some of you pro's.
