Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

This past weekend, Saturday, a friend who knows that I collect knives called to say he was coming over to give me something he "was sure I would like."

Boy, was that an understatement!

My friend goes to yard and estate sales and had scored a fantastic wooden storage chest similar to the Gerstner wooden tool chests that command very high price$! He had paid a mere $20 for this chest and had purchased it as a gift for me. Wow! Once again proving that even a blind squirrel (me) gets an acorn every now and then!

Here are a few pics. Bear in mind that it is still a work in progress. A few knives have already taken up residence with ample room for many more. I believe that I will use the top area for some fixed blades? I'm still trying to figure out which of my knives will be moved from their current locations.

So, without further ado, here is my new Box Full Of Knives...

This has to be one of the coolest "out of the blue" gifts that I have ever received! As you can see all of the drawers are lined with green felt. The entire box is in perfect, nearly new, condition. It is a welcomed addition to my knife collection and will be a wonderful home to many of those knives.

Isn't it great to have friends like this who not only support and encourage our hobbies, but contribute to them as well.

I love my new Box Full Of Knives!

Wow Ron, that is a fantastic chest and a great friend! I wish I had friends like that! LOL!

WOW Ron, is that ever cool, congrats on your gift. What a place for your knives. When you get all your drawers full, show them to us in pics, looks like you have a great start.

Fantastic, Ron.  Great box for storing knives.

That is simply wonderful!  Friends that enable...ooops, support us is great.  One that sees you when he sees this box at a sale?   PRICELESS!

!!! .. Oh my .. !!!

That is a true friend, he saw that box and knew you would love it for your knives.

OK so now you have it for a while...is it full? And are you looking for a new one?

That is a sweet looking gift. Looks like you have some great friends Ron, or at least one.

Your friend and I suspect you have many has a good spirit.

What a beautiful box...looks like it found a good home.

Thanks, Michael and everyone who has commented on my Box O' Knives!

And, yes, Steve -- it is full. Here are some shots of the drawers all out and laying on the floor. These pics do not include the area on top and under the lid, however. Just the 4 drawers that are removable...

And, again, under the lid, which is closed, I have several knives that I keep stored in their original boxes along with some sheaths and nylon pouches. Altogether I was able to house about 100 of my smaller folding knives. It now sits in my bedroom on a Lazy Susan under a television monitor, right next to another tower of knife storage containers. lol...

And here's one more picture that shows one of the two brass handles that sit on either side of the box...

It really is a nice box! And, indeed, I am very fortunate to have a friend in my life like my good friend, Scott. He's the guy who found this box at a yard sale and knew that I would love it. And, of course, he was right. Boy was he right!

So, that's my Box Full O' Knives update. Now if I can just find a couple more boxes like this I should he able to put "most" of my knives to bed for a while. And I'm sure that I won't buy anymore knives *he said with fingers crossed behind his back,* so I should be all set then, right? lol

I invite anyone and everyone to please post pictures of your "Box Full O' Knives" right here in this thread. After all, I've shown you mine -- Now it's your turn to show me yours!

   Cheers!

Ron, Wow! That is a nice Box, Just goes to show what is available for those who spend the time hitting Flea's ,Yards, and estates, I have a similar box from the NAHC except the top cover has glass on it. It was made By Broyhill or some big name furniture company for the club, and I can tell from just looking at the pic that yours is of much higher quality .And i paid about 4 times as much, mainly because of the club Logo engraved on the glass, ..Nice Box Bro, and I'll stop typing now.:)

Hey Ron, GREAT box. I can tell you these boxes don't go cheap, as I have 3 my self that I have been keeping my Antique Fishing tackle in.

The only thing I can tell you is that you can find them sometimes @ Sam's club or one of those Member's clubs for between 75 and 100 bucks.

They are worth that price ALL DAY LONG and when I see them, I try to buy another, as my wife sometimes doesn't understand the supply n Demand process.

Good luck with it and I can see you have some beautiful blades to bed up in there.
