I know I'm not the only one. I love the Scout knives. I don't care if you call it the Camillus C-4 pattern, Boy Scout knife, camp knife or what have you; I think it is one of the greatest and long lived patterns out there.

Just about every knife maker in the world has made one so no matter what brand you collect you should have at least one Scout/camp/hobo. and if you don't have one and you go hiking, camping, fishing or some other type of outdoor activity what knife are you carrying in you pocket and what have you done with it?

Here is one of mine. It is the Case Scout Jr. (one of the few that probably won't be carried.)

Thanks Tobias,

The Sportman knife (pattern # 182) has been a very popular model for Boker throughout the years. The model number of the bone handled knife I posted earlier is 7593. This one is a model 7594 Sportsman which is identical to the 7593 model except it has a phillips screwdriver in place of the corkscrew and delrin handles. Boker also made a Sportsman with pearl handles. Both of the knives I posted have carbon steel blades, but Boker also produced them with stainless (inox.) blades.

Geez Roger, you just flat out have some fantastic Bokers! I always liked Boker knives, but you make me want to start collecting some again! Lol!

I love those Bokers too! I need to add some Moose patterns to my collection. Any moose's for sale let me know. Great knives guys.

The knife I've owned the longest is a blue-handled, "official" Cub Scouts of America camp knife. It went with us in the mid 70's to London where I did three years of college. During that time it was our apartment's (a/k/a: "flat") entire "box of tools" -- Sidebar: talk about changing times -- this knife went JFK->Heathrow and return FOUR times between 1973 and 1976 in the front pocket of my bluejeans.

But, what makes my Scout knife the most special is that my Mom bought it for me. While I can't remember whether I fed the dog this morning, but I have a clear mental image of returning from Gelman's Dept. Store (Pompton Lakes, NJ) with a crisp new, blue Cub Scout uniform, yellow scarf, brass (not really) neckerchief slide, the "Wolf Manual" and the knife -- wish I still had the box -- LOL!

Thats OK Jim, you still have the memory. And I am with you, cant remember if I did everything I needed to do today but many years ago are crystal clear!!

Hi. This is a Hammer Brand Camper knife from the 1930s. I think the 2 nail nicks on the master blade is somewhat unusual. I assume that the 'Army Knife' shield is just a marketing ploy rather than denotoing any official link to the armed forces. I like the bone scales.

These are often up for sale on eBay. Most look like crap. This one looks pretty good. You may want to check there. They often sale the knives with sheaths. Often the sheath is in better shape than the knife. At $4.95, that was a great buy. You might have to pay more for the sheath.
