That's different. Seems like every state has there own rules for check in.

We don't have to tag or check our deer but starting this season we have to call in or report on line within 24 hours after we kill a deer.  We will be given a confirmation number which we record on our harvest record.  We are supposed to carry our harvest record whenever we are hunting.

My goodness - what a limit.

Wow..if everyone would do that, they'd wipe them out.

One modification, in most of AL, the season limit would be 216 deer, three of which could be bucks.

I could kill 3 bucks and 108 does legally.  In most of AL the legal season limit would be 3 bucks and 216 does.

When I lived in Michigan our gun season was 2 weeks, but here it is just about 6 days.

We have to tag and then call in our deer also.

Our limit is 3 bucks and 3 doe's a season. The club I belong to has a different set of rules. 3 nice bucks [ 5 0r 6 points ] and only 1 doe per membership. I let my girls shoot my doe. I could kill more doe's in other places. We must also tag and call in every deer harvested.

Wow Ken, you have a short gun season.  I can see why you would want to be a bow hunter in Ohio.  Your gun season gives you a pretty narrow window of opportunity.  Makes our 2 1/2 month long gun season look pretty good.

One thing nice about our long gun season, it allows me to be picky about what I shoot.  This season I think I will go for a doe during bow season and a couple of bucks during gun season.

Sounds good Charles. I get excited about this time every year, just waiting for opening day. I think I am going Buck only until end of Oct. Our fawns are still spotted and I like them to be able to take care of themselves. Good Luck hunting.
