Snow in South Lousiana?! Global Warming done been snowed on.
It snowed last night. It usually doesn't snow in South Louisiana. My cousin and I are supposed to head to my camp later today, I hope the bridges aren't closed. The roads are probably iced up, I'll have to drive very slow.
I've never been lost. I knew where I was at all times, but the place I was in I wasn't to sure where that was at.....lol
This was more like one of those Daniel Boone anecdotes. When asked if he had ever been lost in the woods, H would say "There were times I was bewildered for three or four days but I was never lost!"
So I might have thought I wanted to shoot the bear but I was obviously subconsciously aiming at the Cicada in the tree because that's what I hit!
Tobias,
I liked the bear/wolf story better. Claiming that you were aiming at (and hit) the noisy cicada perched on a tree trunk 150 yards away, blowing it to smithereens, as you might claim, isn't as thrilling.
Well now, not to brag but I’ve always hit what I aim at. Now on occasion I might be aiming at something other than what I thought wanted to hit but I never miss what I was aiming at.
Good point Robert, I missed one just about like that years ago.
You bet I've missed but I'd rather a clean miss than a wounded deer. I always try for a clean kill and that sometimes makes for a harder shot. Yesterday was one of those, all I could see was the neck and head, so I tried for the base of his neck. I knew it would be a dead deer or a clean miss. Well, it was a clean miss.
I always say "that's why they call it hunting and not killing".
The Truth will set you free Robert. But you probably will get a hard time over that. Being the Veteran hunter you are. Everyone has missed at some time.
