This is some of the kills this past weekend, that I spoke of, earlier. Another wild hog was killed, also. I want to kill a whitetail buck but I also want to kill one of these wild hogs, real bad. They are very good eating and my little family, loves it.

Craig, those are sights to remember!  I see a lot more deer than i shoot when I hunt.  Last season I saw over 200 deer while hunting.  I only killed two.  It was a pleasure to just sit there and watch them,  I had deer within just a few feet of me.

Wish I had my camera with me. Took Sophie out in the backyard about 30 minutes ago. Heard some rustling behind me. I thought it was one of the stinkin' little Squirrels that just ran from the bird feeders. But standing there about 25 feet away was a beautiful 8 point Buck and his Lady friend......just standing there like a picture looking at me! What a beautiful picture. Really lifted my spirits. A gift from God?

Here in Alabama we have  a spear season for deer.  It runs concurrent with the bow season and is three and a half months long.  In AL the spear has to be hand thrown.  No throwing devices are allowed.

Wow! That's something. The state of Louisiana it is illegal to spear a deer. That young man has really something to brag about.

Thanks Robert.  I wasn't sure.  I thought you probably were referring to Black Powder but I've heard that there are some places that have primitive hunting season with an atlatl

The primitive deer season is for Black Powder or guns that shoot old time cartridges. I own one of both of them. You get one shot with a close range rifle. I have had good luck with it in the past.

Robert said:  "Our primitive weapon season opens this coming weekend. I'll post a few pictures later."  What exactly constitutes a primitive weapon?  Are you talking obsidian tipped spears and stone axes  or black powder rifles?

I didn't get a shot with my bow but a friend with a camp near mine, shot a 9pt. buck. It's his first kill with a bow, you can just imagine how excited he was. Our primitive weapon season opens this coming weekend. I'll post a few pictures later.
