Latest Schrade USA acquisitions. Pics please.

I like USA made Schrades & Schrade-Walden knives...obviously. Old Timers, Uncle Henry's and the models that pre-dated those lines. Saw-cut Delrin, Stagalon, Butter-n-Molasses, etc. handles. They're all great in my book.

I am proceeding slowly with adding to my collection, in the beginning I was going like gang busters. But, the pickings are getting slim at least for good/great condition knives.

Although I am not buying much now, I never tire of seeing them or looking for them. So if you have some or have come into some, let me see them.

Eventually I will try to get all I currently have into 1(or 3) photos for this discussion. For now these will have to do.

I have seen these on Ebay quite a bit. That is where mine came from. I don't think I would sell mine, but they are not hard to find, and are not terribly expensive. Here is one i found, but maybe a little high in price, http://www.ebay.com/itm/SCHRADE-WOSTENHOLM-BONE-STOCKMAN-IXL-NEAR-M....

Ms. Anna,

What you have there is a Store Display that was pulled out of the cabinet. That Knife Board and Knives would have been mounted inside a floor rolling cabinet with a glass or plexiglass door and displayed in the sellers venue.

I saw that, or one similar to that one, listed on ebay as a Factory Display, unfortunately, it is not.

It is a fantastic example of the store displays from that era (mid to late 1970's). It is a shame that the knives have been over-exposed to bright lighting or sunlight. That is why the handles appear so faded. If you were to place a new USA Schrade Uncle Henry or Old Timer along side of your knives, you will see exactly what I am talking about.

It is my opinion that the value of a knife is based on rarity and condition. Your knives are not rare, although they are in fact vintage, and unfortunately they are in poor condition, based on the fading. I wish there were some way for you to reverse the affects of the fading, however, there is none that I am aware of.

Having said all of this, do not fret, there is some value to what you have there. The Knife board has value and the knives have some value as well. It's just a matter of what someone would be willing to pay for the knives and board. I personally would be interested in the board, however, I would not have any interest in the knives based on their condition. I am sorry that I can not be of more assistance and I wouldn't feel comfortable even giving you a monetary value.

The above set I found on Etsy and it says from the 1950's 39 knives total I believe. with an attempted explanation of where it was utilized.,

I had looked at the picture from Hog's post and started a comment before reading your post, Tom. Saying pretty much the same thing. Let us know if you get that display board.

Well since I posted that link to Etsy it has come to my attention, the same set is on eBay for more or less . So a value in my mind has already been assigned and it is being sold elsewhere. If nothing else I hope Tom gets the board, but I have my doubts. I appreciate all the help!

She obviously has been told that the display board and knives will bring that amount or more and was possibly looking for verification from here, or potentially a buyer. Unfortunately, a serious collector is not going to pay anywhere near that asking price. I might be interested, specifically for the board, however, I would take the knives and get them rehandled with some exotic woods, which would render them non collective as far as original knives goes. Might be a good project though.
