Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I've just again stumbled on the Schrade Cutlery Collectors Society website.

Do any of you Group members have any comments about this organization? Every time I come across this web page I read

"Hi, Welcome to this first website of the SCCS.  We will be upgrading and developing this site as time permits.  Check back often as we will be updating with collector events and news regularly."

And then I see

Updated May 19, 2009

There's a sign-up for a "Society Knife" and links to a few "Schrade sites" -- Larry V's is one of those.

Executive Director Debra G. Voyles (one of the links is to J Bruce Voyles, Auctioneers and Appraisers)

writes:

As for my background in knives, I was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Knife Collectors as Secretary in 1980, and over the years was the show manager of The Blade Show for 13 years, and currently manage the Knives Illustrated Spirit of Steel Knife Show.

Which all sounds good. What happened to the SCCS??

I hate to reply to my own post -- I might grow hair on my palms(?).

Anyway, I searched over on BladeForums.com and found this thread from 2009 -- Schrade Cutlery Collectors Society

I have to do more research, but, for the time being, I guess I won't be joining the Society.

You're not here alone .. been reading / following .. just nada to contribute.
I try and stay away from any dealings with Bruce Voyles or his wife Debra G. Voyles.
I tried for months to join the society when it first started up. After numerous emails and telephone calls, I finally got a call back. At that point I was so furious, I told them I was no longer interested in being a part of their society. The schrade collectors society is, in my opinion, a total failure.
