Here are two good books. One on Disasters and one on short unplanned stays in the wild. Both books are easily packed with your other gear. Both books stress planning and preparing for survival. These books are informative and well thought out.

I've got the trade edition of it...Did yours come with a dust jacket? 1st editions, with jacket are valued at $125 to $325 depending on condition and printing sequence.

I forgot to mention--a lot of the above titles are available for free from Kindle, Gutenberg etc.
