Furthermore, discussion often meander and without intent. As this is the comment wall, it would be hard to hi-jack it as there is no real thread but a variety of topics going on at once.

IKC does have places for this conversation and I would prefer it to move to such a spot. Heck, I might even give my two cents on the topic in the appropriate venue but this is not the appropriate venue. This spot is for discussing knives used in the great outdoors.
