My Sabre Defence AR with a few add-ons. The POF front sight threw it off, so it is replaced with a flip-up by LWRC, and I'm waiting on my mount to come in to put a Nikon M-223 2-8x32 w/ BDC reticle on it.
Added:
-Diamondhead 13.5" free float hand guard
-Magpul UBR stock
-Rainier Arms Raptor charging handle
-Phase 5 Tactical muzzle brake
-Tactical Link convertible sling 1 or 2 point w/ Z-360 QD mount
-Now has Larue black pistol grip instead of Magpul in pic
I've been keeping up with the post here, just haven't had time to show anything. Here is a shotgun that was given to me when I was about 12. I used to use it a lot when I was younger and used to bird hunt.I shot a few quail and rabbits with this 12 gauge. I had to cut the end of the barrel after being stupid and hunting rabbits while drinking. It was a lucky thing I didn't blow my face off.
Boy busy busy weekend!! Both boys had success in the Arkansas youth season this weekend. Not monster bucks but boy they will taste good! Gun was a Howa 223 youth model. My oldest boys Zachs deer was about 120 yards or so, my youngest boy Bryces was about 75 yards out. Both made near perfect shots. This is my oldests boys third deer and my youngests boys first ever. I used my Kershaw to skin and debone them out in the field!
Fantastic Brian! You've obviously taught them very well. I love to see those ear to ear grins. And I am sure you will remember that hunt as long as they do, maybe even longer. Glad the Kershaw worked well for you.
Congrats Brain and the boys. They certainly are good shots and took care of business, when it counted. Sometimes, that's when it's hard to keep your aim good. They should be called young men, now, they are helping feed the family.
That is sad, more government regulations, that will effect our shooting. It's funny that all of the increases have come under the Obama terms in office.
Crazy fun day of air rifle shooting this fine fall Missouri day! I have never tried this before, but you talk about addicting!! A guy from our range has built a air rifle field target course around his property. Had to be around 60 to 70 targets to shoot at from all different angles and postions. My gun is a weihrauch 97K 177cal springer gun, that is just perfect for this sport. I primarly use it to practice my off hand shooting in the off season. The amount of work he has put in my pictures don't do justice. There where snakes that you had to just hit a couple inches of thier head, to get the points. To Gophers you had to thread it threw the eye! From 10 yards out to about 45, always has brush and limbs and leaves to deal with!
Me shooting up a hill at a rat sized target about 25 yards up on that bluff!
Next is the group of guys I was shooting with! The target is in the upper right hand corner in that dark spot up under that bluff, I believe this one was a Gofer at about 30 yards. The kill spot to make it go down is about the size of a quarter on most of the animals.
next is a metal snake laying on the backside of the log, his head is on a hinge and is about the size of a mans thumb! Very tough shot! About 18 yards or so.
It is even illegal to own a air rifle that is over 650 FPS in Chicago without having FOID card. And under 650 FPS it is still suppose to be registered with the Police Department. (including a Red Ryder BB gun which is right at 350 FPS and only BBs)
Tobias, i would need an FOID card for my Ruger. It is 1,000 fps. Of course I would need an FOID card anyway for all my other guns. And in fact I did have an FOID when I lived in Kankakee.
Tobias, I own a Wildcat Gamo in .177 cal. / with scope. It's a brake barrel type gun. I love it, it is deadly accurate and well made. I was able to get the gun from Cabella's as a refurbished item. The price was around $100. Gamo sells a lot of different models, I have no idea which one is the better rifle. I do know, the accuracy depends on the type pellet you shoot in it. Some guns shoot one pellet better than others. In my gun, the Gamo pellet called "Match" is the only one that is that accurate. Gamo makes several type pellets and other companies do to. Trail and error is the only way I know to find out, what your gun shoots best.
Tobias, please start a Discussion Forum for Air Rifles. You are correct, I think, to have it here. It is great when one group, compliments the other. I don't think it will hurt the Outdoor group to move it here and I think Charles, would be glad to have it here. I also think, that Miss Jan, would be proud that our groups are busting at the seams and spilling over into other groups.
Air Rifles are fun for the whole family. My girls, learned to shoot, using them.
I'm trying to get the oldest grand daughter a shot at a doe. We could use the ground meat. We are heading back in the woods, so no time to post pictures.
Looking for a Combat Magnum in .44 Mag? It is here and it is called the Combat Magnum. This new revolver is a five-shot, four inch wheelgun on an L-frame. It looks to be a medium weight gun with the classic stylings of the old-school Combat Magnums. Along with the Model 66 (see below), it looks like Smith is betting on a revolver revolution.
A Combat Colt in .44 Mag S&W Model 69
Glock 42
S&W 986 Revolver. The 2nd 9MM revolver being introduced at the 2014 SHOT SHOW
Remington will be expanding the 783 line. More Calibers, camo finishes and even the addition of compact versions.
Ran across a pretty cool site this morning called Contemporary makers. Has a good many things but Guns and Knives are a large parts of it. VERY NICE ARTICLE HERE
Jan, thank you for posting the link to that site! It is very interesting but one article in it especially interests me. It is the article about the Battle of Kings Mountain during the Revolutionary War and the guns used there. It lists the names of the leaders on our side one of which was Hambright. That would be Col. Frederick Hambright who was my gggggGrandfather. The article also mentions the musuem at the battle site. One of the artifacts in the museum is my gggggGrandfathers sword.
From the view of the camera it looks like there are some new pink firearms in the booth for the ladies. You can check out all the SHOT Show special firearms here.

It will be interesting to see just how many Illinois folks put in for a permit. In Oklahoma they estimated 100,000 and 22,000 + applied.

I can only hope someone will track the number of requests for conceal carry permits compared to sign-ups for Obama-Care!
Real problem right now is most of the people who conceal carry in Chicago are not going to register their ILLEGALLY obtained gang banger pistols!
