This is the 2007 Bullet knife, R1373.  This one was #112 of 500 that were made.

I have some of the Big daddy barlow that were also SMKW editions in damascus. Smkw has had a lot of SFO Remington's made for them.

Jack - you have always been in the leading edge of Remington, Camillus and Smokey. I remember you writing about problems with Smokey and Camillus out of control on quality with Damascus knives back in 2001.

Can anyone tell me if remmington knives steel is made in the usa ,  assembled  in the usa and owned by americans?

Howard, The bullet series of Remington and the heritage series are still USA made. The bullet knives are produced by Bear & Son for Remington. I'm not sure who makes the Heritage series. Remington Sportsman and vintage series are imported from China. Remington is still American owned. I do have a tactical Remington that was made in Italy.

I think the older knives were made by Camillus. I love a moose pattern and with damascus real bone and sterling silver bullet that Remington is a fine knife.

Remington and Crucible Steel Company of America form Rem-Cru Titanium, Inc., a joint venture. Rem-Cru operated a plant in Midland, Pennsylvania for the purpose of melting, alloying, fabricating, and selling titanium and its alloys. Remington later transferred its 80% share of Rem-Cru to Crucible Steel in exchange for 150,000 shares of Crucible common stock.

I am not a big Remington collector but the ones I buy have real bone or wood handles. What's up with that derlin handle material, does it hold its value?

Delrin is pretty tuff material. I think if the bullet was issued in it, then it should.

Camillus used Delrin on most of their knives, the real value depends on how many knives were made that year. 

Gus, which years have low numbers in the Moose payern?

Guys please post some pictures of ya'll Remington knives, deosn't have to be a bullet knife.

From 1982 to 1989, Remington made 12,000 knives each year.  Then in 1990 to 1992, the number went to 30,000 knives each year. Then from 1993 to 1999 they made 15,000 each year and from 2000 to 2007 they made only 7,500 each year. None of my listings have the word "Moose", let me know what years you are interested in.

Gus, I just checked out some of your pictures from earlier this year and I am very impressed with your collection.  Do you ever show them? 

I show them to some of my knife friends who came over to my home. At my new year party, we almost got into a knife fight, it was over the price of knives. LOL

What do ya'll think of this years Bullet knives?

I haven't bought one yet. One of the members on Sharpfans said he didn't think the quality was very good, but he may have just got a bad one.

I have been shopping for a Bowen/Bullet knife of late, we'll see how it goes, I have never bought one before.

I have a 2012 Bullet knife. When the Remington CCC was formed in 2009, Bear Cutlery signed a 5 yr. contract to make their knives. I do not know how you can improve on a knife made by Bear, an American made company. I am very pleased with all my Remington knives made since 2009 by Bear.

I have 5 2012 bullet knives on order.  I am not sure of the price yet.  If anyone wants one let me know.  I'll post pictures when I get them.  Bear & Son is a fine American company!!

I think Bear Knives are great too, I was just wondering what ya'll thought of this years knives. The 30th Anniversary knives in green curly maple handles to be exact. Remington, made a great choice, when it contracted with Bear to make their knives in my opinion.

On both of my 2011 and 2012 Remington Bullet knives, the action is not smooth and soft like on the older knives. I ordered 3 - Remington Bullet knives 2011, one each for my brother-in-law and my uncle and one for me. I ended up sending two of them back for rework, as they were hard to open and impossible to close.

Gus, that sure does seem like bad luck because I'm sure alot of people have had good results from them.

I've got a lot of NIB vintage Remington knives.  Is there a place or resource to help me value these?  I think there are at least 50 knives/sets.  I'm looking to get an idea on value because I'm selling them.  I inherited a collection and am not into knifes.  Thanks, Chris.

Chris, scroll down and look at pages 10 trough 14. Gus Marsh has alot of info on the bullet knives there. You may have to post pictures and model numbers and year and get members to help with a price. I am interested in what you have and I'm sure others also. I hope this helps a little.
