I told you...I bet Kevin D here could smell it when he logged in.  :-D

Yep yep!  I am echoing Lars's comments regarding the bayonet.  I found it funny that you are trying to show off your Swiss knives and tools, and my attention is immediately drawn to the bay!   LOL.

Pull that thing out 2 inches and we can tell you if it is an 1889, 1899, or 1918.  It is obviously not the 1906 or 1914, and I can tell that is it is not the 1918/55.  :)

Those are the Schmidt Rubin style handles that are out there.  I am certain that the serial number was stamped on the shown side of the guard.  No number indicates that it was unissued.  I have only ever seen 1918 (or 1918/55) bays that were unissued.  If you have one of the others, that is special!  (every one of my Swiss bayonets have been issued)

There should be a 2 digit year stamped into the leather on the back of the frog.  If the frog is original to the bayonet, that is the best source you have for the 'born on' date.

These are some nice knives too. But just look at that bay! OMG that is good looking. I can't tell by just the hilt - is that an M1899 or an M1918, or K31? That's a well cared for frog as well. Nice piece Amigo. You need to post a couple of photos of just the bayonet....Kevin D (fellow collector here on iKC) is a serious Swiis bayonet (and rifle) collector. He will fawn all over your piece.
