Usually if I look at UK Ebay I can see a few Kees, but as you said they are rusty and pitted

i think in holland there are still a few around   it is something like your buck 110  jan ... in these years a lot of people carried one

but i must say that most of these herders are in very bad shape (rust) when i see them

OK, I am going to say I like the box also but the knife, with the story is just awesome.  Herder made a good many knives and a lot of them are still around but this particular model was not a big hit in the US and therefor for us it is a bit rare!

Great looking photo Kees, the box knife and watch all go together really well .

hahaha  i love you guys !!  the box belonged to my grandmother and ibelieve it was made in Belgium   my father kept his cufflinks in it as i recall   it is a heavy little money box from around 1900-1920  the pic also shows my dads pontiac watch that he wore in the 60's

Great photograph! Beautiful knife, sporting a wonderful patina. I love the aged look of that wooden handle and the way that birdseye pivot pin sits like a crown atop this splendid old knife.

Cool knife and a wonderful backstory on this treasured piece. And, like Michael, I really like that old box, also! It begs the question; "What treasures hide inside of it?"
