My dear friend, Carl!

G'day, sir! Thanks for giving me a nudge! I was thinking about you just a day or two ago while discussing a John Ek commemorative set with another member, a Bowie and a dagger, and recalling some of your amazing Ek knives.

You have one of the most amazing collections of fixed blade knives of anyone I have ever known! But there's something else I think of when I'm thinking of you - I think of some of the visitors that have happened to walk or SLITHER into your backyard! Have you seen Mr. No Shoulders lately - the lengthy Rat Snake that was dangling in the tree tops, as I recall?

Wow! I just revisited the amazing photographs of your knives and came away with an appreciation of the fact that you, my friend, are truly a COLLECTOR while I am merely an accumulator. You have an amazing collection and some truly magnificent pieces!

It's so good to "see" you again and to gaze upon some "REAL" knives! You are my hero, Carl! Say hi to all your critters for me, will ya!

Cheers for now, mate!

Thank you Carl.  Funny it is not many folks that will mention the balance and edge retention when talking about an axe.  Both of those are KEY for me.  I can polish up an edge on my knife but I would have no idea how to keep an axe sharp

My latest acquisition a  S.A. Wetterlings scout ax/hatchet made in Sweden. The S.A.W. brand of ax's appeared sometime during the 1860's and continued into modern times. This axe is 5.5" x 3" with handle being a total of 13" and is made a Swedish carbon alloy steel. This is a very nice axe, well balanced and keeps a nice sharp edge.
