knife is wade & butcher sheffield england,same make as one pictured in ben palmer collection but not same knife. i copied the pics from the book and framed it nicely for my enjoyment. the guy is ben palmers great uncle robert mackall, who rode with mosbys rangers,csa.during the civil war. the england stamp tells us that this is a later period knife.
