I bought this wood to make something for my wife (Dawn) She thought it was cool and I haven't made much for her from wood.

I just opened the clear packaging from the 2 pieces of wood, prior to taking the pic. I found out that the purple color comes out more, when the wood is exposed to light (kind of like Osage orange). The larger piece looked different where the smaller piece was covering it. Here you can see the purple more evident on the two edges (where the light could get to it).
