Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I purchased this knife (Desert Warrior) about a year ago, and the scales were painted a beautiful olive drab color. Well, in the the course of carrying the thing almost every day, the paint was severely worn off showing the aluminum scales.

This past weekend I decide that I was going to try to fix it. I dis-assembled the knife, and put the scales on a fairly fine wire wheel to remove what was left of the old paint. I then sprayed them with a metallic oiled rubbed bronze paint. Waiting for these coats to dry thoroughly, I then put on a few coats of clear enamel in the hopes of the clear allowing the paint to last longer.

Re-assembled, and voila! I am thinking it is looking fairly decent.
