The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Chris Crawford, a knife maker down in Mississippi made this “Trump” slip joint a few weeks back. He has been doing some neat shields with his pantograph … but this one is out of this world. Anyway, he was planning to keep it for himself. However, we got to talking and he agreed to let me have it. Politics aside … this is a very unique knife and definitely a one of a kind!!! He is certainly Making Knives Great Again!!

Thanks Jan.
Chris is a member here, but don't think he's posted much. The knife is based on his EDC-B model. He gave me a rundown on how he made it. The blade is CPM-154. The handle is acrylic with the image between the liners and the clear acrylic scales. And, as I mentioned, he used his pantograph in making the Trump shield. According to Chris, he printed the picture on card stock and glued it to the acrylic. His concern was that if it got wet, the card stock would delaminate, and the scales would separate from the liners. What he ultimately did was to saturate the picture with glue, stick it to the acrylic and let it set up. He then soaked the whole scale in a cup of water and was able to rub all of the paper off, leaving a layer of glue that had the picture still under it. Finally, he saturated the other side with glue and stuck it to the liner. He said that he went through about a dozen scales before he got the process down to his liking.
Here's a pic of the reverse.
LOVE IT!
