What a beautiful result. I can only hope mine turn out 1/2 as well. Great job by a true craftsman.

Well Ron, the reason I wanted to do that is because I slipped up with the wood rasp and messed up a piece of the edge (you can't see now) and then I thought I'd work a sharpening notch in. But I guess that isn't happening this time.

Obviously a learning curve here, eh. Next time you'll know to do any filework modifications prior to heat treating the blade. Either that or spend some big bucks on diamond files!

Kudos, Alexander! Great job and gorgeous end result, my friend!

    Two thumbs, waaay up!

This will now lie around untill I get started on Sheathmaking. Probably when I finish the Comittee knife.

Also, something cool about this knife:

I though I'd put in a small sharpening choil AFTER it was heat treated....well, big misstake. Turns out this steel is so wear resistant that my tiny little rat tail file.....was around the same hardness as the blade. And I didn't get anywhere in filing the choil. After filing for 5 minutes and not seeing ANY result (and it sounding like I was filing glass or something) I just gave up. Maybe if I get me some Diamond files. But untill then...I'll not bother.
