Good to hear! It's a great place to ask any questions you might have about the site. If I'm not at work, I am there. :) If you keep hearing "bings" coming from your speakers, that is people talking in Chat. See you there!

I will have a look at the chatroom soon Steve ,I have been so busy exploring this great site so far that I hadn't thought of going there.

If we ever get out that way, I most certainly will! Drop into the chat room sometime if you get bored.

Actually, I just saw a video on YouTube my boss showed me of that same trip! It looked amazing! You are a lucky guy. Would love to try that out.

Yes, I read where the boats are all very narrow. Six foot like you said. It is indeed some beautiful country. I don't know why but I suspected that you were a Welshman. You have that Tom Jones air of sophistication about you. Perhaps that is why?

Have a great day, my friend. I am headed out for a brisk walk. Stretch my legs a bit.

Cheers!

Hi Ron, alas I don't have my own boat we usually hire one ,mostly dayboats, though once we had one for a week on the Lancaster canal. the boats go up to 70ft  and on most canals are only 6ft10 in width hence the term narrowboat. Originally, in 18c they were horsedrawn , now diesel powered and purely for pleasure instead of trade. This area is very pretty I live in Shropshire on the welsh border , which is close to the aqueduct, you have to be Welsh to be able to pronounce it.

John, that picture is INCREDIBLE! Do you have your own boat, craft, or whatever those vessels are called? Last night I looked at several photographs that were absolutely spectacular! Gorgeous countryside you have over there.

And this is a little way past Llangollen wharf ,built in 1795 and 126 ft high, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
