Comment by John Bamford on August 18, 2013 at 1:05: Hi Ron, alas I don't have my own boat we usually hire one ,mostly dayboats, though once we had one for a week on the Lancaster canal. the boats go up to 70ft and on most canals are only 6ft10 in width hence the term narrowboat. Originally, in 18c they were horsedrawn , now diesel powered and purely for pleasure instead of trade. This area is very pretty I live in Shropshire on the welsh border , which is close to the aqueduct, you have to be Welsh to be able to pronounce it.
