Thanks, Craig! The stag IS very nice on the little Barlow.
Actually, that antler thingy is a Native American artifact that I've had for at least 25, maybe 3o years? Probably even longer than that when I come to think about it? It is a genuine piece of Indian art and has a tribal marking on it. Trouble is--like with most things these days--I can't recall which tribe it was?
Many years ago, here in So. Calif., close to where I live, there was a shop that dealt exclusively in buying, selling or trading Indian art, crafts, and jewelry. I used to frequent the shop quite often and purchased various items over the years. This happens to be one of those acquisitions. I pose it with many, if not most, of my knives. The bead work is beautiful and has held up remarkably well. There was some rabbit fur on it when I first bought it. That, as you can see, did not fare quite as well as the beads, I'm sad to say. I do have a rabbit pelt laying around and one day I may just replace the missing fur pieces? In the meantime, I will continue to use it as an interesting addition to my knife pics. It's kind of a quasi-totem sort of thing for me now. If that makes any sense?
Thanks for asking. Tell the missus that I said howdy, and also that I hope she's feeling better. She is still in my thoughts and prayers.
Cheers, my friend(s) *grin*
Nice stag! What is that antler/Indian thing with it? My wife wants to know too.....she's 25% Indian....Mohegan (People of the Wolf).
