Ron-if you do any skinning-you will love this style. no point to put holes in hides and the way it fits in your hand is like it is a part of you.  there isn't any real reason-to me any way-to have a big blade to skin with. if making one you can even just sharpen to one edge. my bud and i bought a whole snakewood log from a local exotic wood dealer. it makes a big difference when you can pick out materials in person!   thanks!

That, my friend, is one of the more interesting knives I have ever seen. That's a lovely specimen of Snakewood, too!
