Note the springs. The Camillus (left) has brass spacers, the middle Kingston has carbon steel spacers. This was done in the mid-war years (1942-1944)due to a shortage of brass. The last knife is a late war stainless steel slab sided Kingston made in 1944. The first production models used brass liners with carbon steel blades and springs
