Hi Dale,
you got this with good old George right! The pin is for my friends the ' Folder Squeezzers' you know after every knife show you find this flat spots on your blades because somebody squeesed it in closed position. Intentionell or not? It just prevents the edge hitting the hard frame for any reason!
