Annoyed that I cracked the bronze guard on a knife I've been working on . I decided that for a break I'd start on something new.
4mm thick 52100 steel slowly turning into a persian style knife.

Ron, this is just the initial bevel. I'll be turning it into a full flat grind. And you're right it does look a little bit like the Kalinga. Funny since that's never been a knife I liked very much.

My first thought when looking at this was that it looked quite similar to a Buck Kalinga...

Although the grind line on the Kalinga is no where near the bevel you have on your knife.

Keep us posted, Alex. I'm sure that it will turn out nice. Bummer about that bronze guard, though.
