I decided to dovetail the bolsters for a nice tight fit.

Trimmed down, I used brass because i thought it would match the yellow lip mother of pearl scales nicely, I will do some file work on it too.

Thanks Dale,

Your correct, it does lock open I carefully removed some material from the blade and now it locks open nice and solid.

Yesterday I decided not to use the coil spring, instead I thought it would be simpler to replace the rear spacers with a block that I mounted a round spring rod in.

I assembled the squirt to check function, It is a solid little bugger, one thing I don't like is it does not lock open, not enough room to remove material if your going to use a spring. I guess the thing is so small just the spring tension will be enough to hold it open, It just seems a bit unsafe.

Tonight I decided on handle material, I am going to use yellow lip mother of pearl.

I too will machine the blade to make room for the spring. I will document and share.

Dale,

I just purchased a Super Squirt , SS model. I'm going to make it for my wife. Have you finished yours yet? What are you using for handle material?
