These are whetstones only so no messy oil which is a major plus for me. :)
It's quite enough that after a day of working the stones you look like you have been mudbathing lol. It sure is relaxing, althoughI have to admit I have been everything but it when working with expensive Japanese swords!
If you like oilstones though I strongly recommend a Charnley Forest stone, it is a very fine stone, I believe the finest oilstone in existance. It also consists of novaculite so it is basically like a superfine Arkansas. The serrations left from novaculite are quite deep however compared to other stone types.
