A poor snapshot of a new knife that I like a lot. A damascus (alabama damascus works) 3.5in (9cm) by 5/32in (3mm) thick with egyptian pattern hardwood mosaic handle and double liners undernearh. A pretty heavy knife. The  realtree pattern leather sheath, barely visible above, is nice and deep. Better pix later, I hope.

The maker is Charlie Haines out in Sheridan, Texas maybe 2/3 the way to San Antonio from Houston. His cell phone is   9 7 9 - 7 5 8 - 1 9 4 7 and he's at knivesbycharlie@gotsky.com and www.knivesbycharlie.com

He welcomed Kathy and I in for a nice visit, and we got to admire all the custom work he did on his home. A real great Texas country home. A smart, nice guy and a skilled knife maker. Entirely reasonable.
