Got no complaints buddy. Usually you'd carve out of something much softer like basswood. This is out of a hardwood. I was just stubborn enough to do the cage. (And a glutton for punishment to do another.)

Next project will be a chain.
Finished another cage project, yesterday with a much better ball, (At least it's round...ish).

JJ .. got that wooden "log chain" finished yet ?? My paternal grandather started w/ a 6' pine 2*4 & ended up w/ a caged ball @ the end of a chain .. I was a teenager @ the time .. an impressed teenager !!
